Workplace Needs Assessments
Workplace needs assessments are designed to identify reasonable adjustments that can be implemented to support a neurodiverse employee in the workplace and aid performance. It is a semi-formal remote interview with an experienced workplace needs assessor to look at the specific job role of an individual, and the challenges they experience in relation to their diagnosed or self-reported neurodiverse condition – Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and DCD/Dyspraxia.
To ensure that every employee receives the right level of support, we have introduced a tiered Workplace Needs Assessment model. This structure enables us to match assessment depth to the complexity of each case, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and a better overall experience for both employee and employer.
The assessor will take account of information provided by the employer and the employee before making recommendations for reasonable adjustments.
The assessment will also look to involve the employee’s line manager and HR / Occupational Health department to ensure recommendations are realistic and appropriate for the individual and the organisation.
A Workplace Needs Assessment is job-specific, and we would suggest that a new assessment is undertaken each time an individual starts a new role.
